The Keep It True Festival is hosting a special Mark Shelton Tribute show this Friday(April 26). It will feature the members of Manilla Road (Bryan “Hellroadie” Patrick on vocals, Andreas “Neudi” Neuderth on drums, and Phil Ross on bass) playing with various friends and musicians influenced by Manilla Road, as well as former members Randy “Thrasher” Foxe and Rick Fisher.

To Kill a King is yet another cobblestone on their pathway to Vahalla and predictably delivers a flying buttress of epic, olde-timey metal mixed with doom and 70s hard rock, sounding like Atlantean Kodex would if the current members were replaced by dirty bikers. Manilla Road are a Witchita, Kansas based metal band that started out way back in 1977. Mark Shelton, on guitar and vocals, founded the band with a few high school buddies and after playing in the local bar scene for a bit, they managed to get traction and release their first album, titled Invasion, in 1980.. In the early days, Manilla Road played a traditional style of metal that blended 2018-11-21 Manilla Road was booked for Kansas City Power Metal Fest 2009. Manilla Road would headline the Friday night of the Warriors Of Metal Fest V Open Air on June 29th, 2012 at the Frontier Ranch in Pataskala, Ohio. Shadow Kingdom Records announced the reissue of Manilla Road’s Invasion for November 6th, 2012. It was originally issued in 1980.
